In the future, humans will no longer wear jeans. Despite being a clothing staple for over a hundred years, jeans will suddenly and inexplicably go into extinction. Shortly after the apocalyptic phenomena that change Earth forever, the surviving population will begin to understand that drab, gray uniforms held up by a large utility belt are the superior option. Colors may vary, but the duller the better. Any sort of personalization will ultimately be expressed through loud, garish hair color and body accessories (more on that later).
Typically, humans that have escaped destruction on Earth will reside on large spaceships, on which they will be able to recreate every condition necessary to cultivate crops (except -- apparently -- the elusive "Alabama" setting).
Since cotton production is no longer viable, humans will resort to polyphane and other synthetic materials for their clothing needs.

There is only one exception. Denim will exist on the post-Apocalyptic earth in the form of denim jackets. Unlike their spaceship counterparts, Earth-dwelling humans (or humanoids -- depending on the radiation levels) live in anarchy, free from the oppressive space culture that dictates all people dress and look alike.

Few people will still wear jeans, however. Most will prefer skin-tight leather pants, chainmail leggings, or your occasional shapeless rag. In the case of jean jackets, they will not be worn for comfort. Rather, they will be used to designate gang affiliation. In the future, Earth’s anarchic society will disintegrate into primitive turf wars. Along with their distinctive clothing-based themes, gangs will have endearing names like "the Scorprions" and "the Jezebels."

In general, however, humans will give up on their jean-wearing days. It is possible a jeans-specific virus ravaged the remaining denim shortly after one of the several apocalyptic events. It is also possible that everyone changed their collective tastes (clearly for the better). Either way, we have a denim-free future to look forward to and that could (possibly) be a good thing.
